Volunteer Of The Week – Element Church

Hey Element Church! Meet Kristie, this week’s Volunteer of the week. Kristie was nominated by Andy, our Associate Pastor of Assimilation, who said this: “I am nominating Kristie as the VOW because she is a fantastic leader of our 11:30 greeter team.  She is very consistent and always has a smile on her face.  It is greeters like Kristie and her team that create a welcoming environment for everyone coming through the front doors at Element Church on a weekly Basis.”

Kristie has been attending Element Church for about 7 years. She was baptized here in 2012! Her mom and nephew both serve on the greeter team as well. (Cal, her nephew, is 8 and loves taking out the trash and cleaning up the bathrooms at church! He never misses a day he volunteers and said he can’t wait until he is old enough to be on the parking team.) She is a medical laboratory scientist at UCHealth and enjoys walking her dogs, reading, remodeling her house, and CrossFit.

When asked why she serves here at Element, Kristie said, “I came to Element in 2011, and volunteered as a greeter, then was moved into the living room. I ended up going back to school and had to stop serving for a while. Now that my life has slowed down and I am able to attend church on a regular basis I have been taking my nephews with me. The younger one goes to E:KIDZ and the older one, Cal, goes to the regular service with my mom and I. One day they talked about volunteering and Cal asked if we could. We signed up and have been greeting ever since. I love being a greeter at Element and enjoy meeting new people from all walks of life every Sunday. I finally feel like I’m on the right track in life serving at Element. It’s where I first decided to follow Jesus and became baptized, It’s a second home to me!”

Kristie, it is an honor to have you serve God with us here at Element. Thank you for taking seriously your role in helping people experience life, get connected, and make an impact. What you do MATTERS!
