Hey Element Church! Meet Tina, this week’s Volunteer of the week. Tina was nominated by Eiron, one of our Pastoral Assistants who said this: “Tina has been such a blessing to the Element team. She has been volunteering at PlayCity for a couple of months and has taken on a leadership role. Tina is such a joy to be around and really shows people the love of Jesus. I have come to rely on Tina at PlayCity and on the Care team. Tina also serves in our E:KIDZ ministry and during the week to prepare the classrooms for Sundays. Thank You, Tina, for all you do here at Element, we are truly Blessed to have you.”
Tina and her kids have been attending Element for three years. She enjoys coffee dates, binge-watching Netflix, reading, traveling and spending time with her family.
When asked why she serves here at Element Church, Tina said, “I grew up in church and have always had a heart for Jesus and for people. Life hit me pretty hard right before I turned 18, and I lost my faith for a while. I stepped away from church for quite a long time and struggled to find a way back. A good friend of mine told me I should come to try Element with her one Sunday, and I decided I would try. The moment I walked in the front doors, I knew I found my place. I started serving not too long after I started attending. There is so much heart at Element and in its people and I wanted to be a part of it. I wanted to give back to Element because they gave me a place, and instilled a sense of urgent purpose in me. I love being at the church, being among so many genuine and loving people, and serving in the capacities Element has given and allowed me, and I love that my kids are growing up in such an amazing, loving and giving church. I am so thankful for the community I have built because of Element. Being at Element has been such a life changing experience for me, and I am so excited to continue to grow in my faith alongside such life and loving people.”
