I believe this two-word prayer is something that needs to be shared all over our world right now. “Lord, help!”
Sometimes that’s all you can pray, and the great news is, there are times that it’s all you need to pray.
“Lord, help!”
“Lord, help!” is a prayer my wife and I have prayed on many occasions. My wife, Sabrina, often says, “Jesus, help!” when we drive upon a car accident on the road or hear the news of someone in need.
Just this last week, as I watched the horrific events unfold in Afghanistan and Haiti, and as the news of COVID overrunning hospitals continue to roll in, I find myself at a loss for words. I don’t know what to say, and I don’t know what to pray!
Whether it’s a world event, or something close to home, I don’t know about you, but so often, I don’t know what to pray. “Lord, help!” is all I can muster.
If you ever feel the same way, be encouraged. There is actual Biblical evidence of that two-word prayer being answered by the Lord.
Psalm 107:13 “Lord, help!” they cried in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress.
“Lord, help!”
Only two words, but God answered and saved.
This doesn’t mean that all of our prayers should only be two words; it just means that some of our prayers can.
In moments like we are facing today, “Lord, help!” is all I can say.
