How Is God’s Word Refreshing?

This week at Element Church we continued our sermon series called “19” as we walk through Psalm 19 in the Bible. So far, we’ve talked about the purpose of life and what we have in God each new day. This week we talked about why we can rest in God’s commands. God’s commands are not meant to restrict us, they are meant to bring us rest.

It’s easy to do, but so often we view God’s Word and His commands as restrictive. Don’t do this, don’t do that. We get focused on all the “thou shalt’s” and “thou shalt not’s”.  While there are definitely some do’s and do not’s in God’s Word and commands, they are not meant to restrict us from experiencing life, they are meant to release us to experience the fullness of life that only God can give.

In the clip below, I use the super bloom phenomenon in death valley to illustrate how God’s commands are refreshing. You can watch full sermons and services of Element Church HERE.
