Sabrina and I are so excited to officially drop Episode 000 of The Naked Party Time Podcast, where we get real and raw about life, leadership, and love; while having lots of fun along the way. A HUGE shout out and thank you to Hayley Laban for the amazing artwork!
In our podcast, we will talk about everything from ministry and leadership to marriage and love. We will dig into money, intimacy, parenting, and more. If it’s a part of life, it is never off-limits. We are as open about our failures as our successes and desire to see people flourish in every part of their lives.
Join us for Naked Party Time and take your next step to flourish as well.
We’re calling this episode zero because this is more of a podcast reveal and an introduction to what we’re going to be talking about here. Today we want to cover who we are if you don’t know, where the podcast name came from, what it means, why we decided to start a podcast, and what we hope to accomplish with this thing.
You’ll have to listen to the podcast to hear the story behind the name, but one of the reasons we chose the name is because we are passionate about is seeing people have a safe place to truly be “naked”, to bare their soul to someone else and be safe. Unashamed. That really was the state of the Garden of Eden.
Genesis 2:25 Now the man and his wife were both naked, but they felt no shame.
When I read that, to me it’s much deeper than just their physical nakedness. This is the way God intended for us to have community, especially when it comes to marriage relationships, it is to bear oneself before another and there is no shame. No condemnation. No sin.
It’s Spiritually baring one’s soul to others. Having someone in your life that you are completely naked with emotionally, mentally, and within marriage, physically as well. It’s sharing all your struggles, doubts, hurts, hang-ups, fears, weaknesses, desires, disappointments, pain, past, and insecurities. It’s being naked; fully exposed before the other and there is no shame.
In fact, we are so passionate about people living life like this that one of our first podcast episodes will be about vulnerability. The theme for that podcast is: Your level of vulnerability will determine your level of victory.
So, on this podcast, we’re going to be as authentic and transparent as is appropriate. We will share our successes in life, which we have some, but we will not shy away from our failures as well. We continue to have many of those.
That’s the naked part of the Naked Party Time Podcast, but also, we want to have fun. That’s the party time part. In every episode, we’ll hopefully have some fun along the way, and one of the ways we’ll do that is by answering listener questions.
Sabrina and I are wired very differently. I’m a pastor, so I love to talk into a microphone. Sabrina doesn’t say much, so you might expect me to be doing more of the talking, but watch out. When she starts talking, it’s usually really really good, or incredibly inappropriate.
Our plan is to release new episodes on the second and fourth Mondays of each month, with some surprise or bonus episodes along the way.
