In 1 Timothy, Paul tells us to “Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority.”
We don’t have a king, but we do have a president and many people who are in authority, and this is how we are to pray.
1 Timothy 2:1-2 I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to HELP them; INTERCEDE on their behalf, and GIVE THANKS for them. Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity.
With that as our guide, here is the 5th prayer we are praying at Element Church in our “What I’m Praying For” series:
God, we pray for all those who are leaders in our lives. We ask you to help them be the men and women You desire them to be. We intercede for them; asking You to lead them to a genuine faith in You through Christ, and that You would protect them from all attacks of the evil one. And we thank You for them, knowing that all authority in Heaven and on earth belongs to You. Lord, in praying these things, may we, Your children, live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity.
