If you don’t know, we have a great prayer tool out there called PrayForWyoming.com. Every day of the month from the 1st to the 23rd we offer a prayer guide for a corresponding county in Wyoming. For instance, tomorrow is March 1st and we will have a prayer guide to pray over Natrona County which is county #1 in Wyoming. Each month there is a different focus and each day there is a new thing to pray for.
Here at Element Church, we are passionate about impacting our state. Our vision is to be a life-giving movement of people having such an impact that if we were gone our communities would miss us. Part of that impact is praying over our state in a disciplined and diligent way.
1 Peter 4:7 says The end of the world is coming soon. Therefore, be earnest and disciplined in your prayers.
I read that recently in my devotions and was challenged to have a sense of urgency in my prayers, specifically in my prayers for our state. Is there a sense of urgency in your prayers? Not just urgent about our own needs and desires but urgent for the Gospel to penetrate people’s lives? Are we disciplined in our prayers? Not just saying we pray “continually” but actually praying “consistently.”
We don’t know when the end will come and that should motivate us to pray with urgency and discipline. Lord help us! Lord move us! Lord save us! Lord come quickly!
