Hey Element Church! Meet Erica, this week’s Volunteer Of The Week. Erica was nominated by Kristina, one of our Pastoral Assistants who said this: “Erica serves in many capacities at the church. She is a leader for one of the next steps teams, serves as an usher and also serves during the week with shopping and other errands. She is a huge asset to the First Impressions and Admin teams and I could not do my job without her. Erica is one of the most faith-filled woman I have ever met. She is a constant encourager and her heart breaks for the lost. Erica is real and genuine and her love for Jesus is evident and it shows in every part of her life, whether it is with her family, the people she serves with or someone she is just met. She is bold in her faith and I admire her so much for that.”
Erica has been attending Element Church since Christmas, 2009 and says she was instantly hooked. “God’s love radiated through all of its volunteers, and welcomed me with open arms. I never stopped coming after that!” She has owned and operated coffee shops her entire adult life. She loves coffee, mainly she says because she needs it to function (ha!), and because she has four children to chase! Since selling the last coffee shop in July of 2017, she has continued to work at the courthouse doing criminal researching and background checks. Besides being a mother and a wife, she enjoys cooking and hosting.
When asked why she serves at Element Church, Erica said, “I love Element Church for many reasons. I believe that this church is doing exactly what Jesus called us to do. We show the love of Christ to all who attend and our community, and we welcome everyone! This is shown by all the leadership, staff and volunteers. Seeing this just encouraged me to serve. God has brought me so far, and I want to help others they same way. Jesus died on the cross for all humanity. Because of this love He has shown toward us, I desire to do my best to show this love to others, and to serve others so they will know the endless and pursuing love of God.”
Erica, we love having you on the team and are honored that you serve God along with us. Thank you for what you do. IT MATTERS!
