Hey Element Church! Meet Derrick, this week’s Volunteer of the week. Derrick was nominated by Jared, our Creative Arts Pastor who said this: “It has been such a blessing to watch Derrick grow, both in his abilities and in his faith. He is an extremely hard worker and wants to learn and get better in every walk of life. He’s worked hard to be a better musician, a better husband and father, and most importantly, a stronger follower of Jesus, because he knows there’s such value to all of those. We are so thankful to have Derrick and his family as a part of our Element family and they have inspired many others as they continue to center their lives around Jesus.”
Derrick started attending Element in the summer of 2016, with his wife. They immediately knew Element was the place for them, and they began serving on the Worship Team shortly thereafter. Derrick also serves in our E:KIDZ ministry. Derrick is in the military and loves playing guitar, and is also a bit of a fitness enthusiast. He is also very passionate about cooking and woodworking.
When asked why he servers here at Element, Derrick said, “I serve because God has called me to use my talents to spread His word and help others. I love serving on the Worship Team because it brings me joy to have the opportunity to reach people with the music we play on Sundays. Serving in E:KIDZ is important to me because I love knowing I can positively impact our youth by teaching and demonstrating how we can live like Christ. I am extremely grateful to volunteer at Element because of how much it has allowed me to grow as a Christian.”
Derrick, thank you so much for your service to God here. You said that you have grown as a Christian by serving. Well, know that you are helping others grow as well. What you do MATTERS!
