The writer of Hebrews tells us that “motivating one another to acts of love and good works” is one of the primary goals of our gathering together as Believers.
Whether we’re gathered on a Sunday for the worship service, in small groups throughout the week, at an outreach event in the community, or even around the dinner table in our homes.
Our goal of every interaction is motivation.
Motivation toward love and good works.
Let that sink in.
Think about what you say and how you say it.
Think about where you spend your time and how you spend your resources.
Is your life… is my life focused on motivating others toward love and good works?
Would someone look at my life or listen to the way I talk and be motivated to love better and work harder?
Would someone look at my life or listen to the way I talk and equate it with love and good works?
Let this verse be a challenge to us.
May we be mindful, not just today, but every day, to motivate one another to acts of love and good works.
