What am I praying for our church?
That’s what I answered on Sunday at Element Church as we started a new sermon series called “What I’m praying for.”
These aren’t the only things I’m praying for our church, but they are three specific things that I’m challenging you to pray with me each day this coming week.
If you haven’t yet, make sure and set a reminder somewhere to pray at 9:31 (Either AM or PM or both). 9:31 is the reference from Acts where these prayers are formed.
Acts 9:31 The church then had PEACE throughout Judea, Galilee, and Samaria, and it became STRONGER as the believers lived in the fear of the Lord. And with the encouragement of the Holy Spirit, it also GREW in numbers.
In short, I’m praying for our church to have peace, to have power, and to reach more people.
Here is the full prayer I’m challenging all of us to pray:
Father in Heaven, by the blood of Jesus that was shed on the cross and by the power of the Holy Spirit who raised Him from the dead, I pray that you would fill up our church with Your peace and unity among one another. I pray you would strengthen us with Your power, and with the encouragement of Your Spirit, may we reach more and more people for You.
