What trouble are you facing in life?  If the answer is “none” then what trouble HAVE you faced in life?  I say all the time, “you either have already, are now or will in the future face great amounts of trouble in your life.”  When we face trouble we have a choice.  We can either focus on the trouble or we can focus on the God who can bring triumph in spite of our trouble or even because of our trouble.

In Exodus 14:2-4 God says, “Order the Israelites to turn back and camp by Pi-hahiroth between Migdol and the sea. Camp there along the shore, across from Baal-zephon.  Then Pharaoh will think, ‘The Israelites are confused. They are trapped in the wilderness!’ And once again I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, and he will chase after you.  I have planned this in order to display my glory through Pharaoh and his whole army. After this the Egyptians will know that I am the Lord!” So the Israelites camped there as they were told.

See that?  God planned for them to be in a troubling situation.  He literally brought them to a place of trouble in order to reveal Himself as a God of Triumph.  This had to seem incredibly confusing to the people of Israel.  They couldn’t see the future.  They didn’t know that God was going to part the waters and wipe out the army of Pharaoh.  They had to be thinking, in fact from Scripture we know they were, “Why did God bring us to this place to die?”

Ever feel like that?  Ever feel like God has brought you to a place where you were stuck between an ocean and an army?  Perhaps God has brought you to a place of trouble in order to reveal Himself as a God of Triumph.  Look to Him!  He will either come through on your behalf or He will see you through the burden.  Either way, He will be triumphant.  Either way, the enemy doesn’t win.
