Element Church: Volunteer Of The Week

Hey Element Church! Meet Tony, this week’s Volunteer Of The Week. Tony was nominated by Steve, one of our Associate Pastors, who said this: “Tony is an amazing man that has overcome so much in this life. I got to pray with him to receive Christ in the Living Room 6 years ago here at Element Church in his Easy Rider shirt. He has persevered through a lot and has such an incredible story of redemption. I love this man and his passion for people and the lost. Especially the homeless. Tony is the bus driver of the OneReach bus and picks up our local homeless every single week for church. I am honored to know him and to learn from him in this life.”

Tony has been attending Element Church for around 6 years. His mom also attends occasionally. He has worked in construction every since he was 14. “I love building things with my hands or machinery.”

When asked why he serves at Element, he said, “Why I serve is because I used to be a taker and didn’t believe in God. Once I started coming to Element I accepted Christ into my life and he has changed who I used to be. I have a special place in my heart for the homeless because I have been where they are and felt there was no way out and no one loved me. Little did I know my God has loved me this whole time! I serve because it fills my heart with love and joy. I just love my church and the Bible study on Wednesday night. I love those men like brothers. They help me to get right when things get hard. I love my church.”

Tony, we love you!  Thank you so much for being a part of our team.  You are one of the reasons God chose to start Element Church.  You are now making an impact in people’s lives. What you do MATTERS!
